Well, I am back and ready to perform like Marvin in his heyday. This is the time that we get ready to get any type of edge that we can find. I am working on drafting in the WCOFF this Sunday, except that I am in the final stages of moving out of my apartment and into my new house with my wife. I was able to do much better last year winning a WCOFF sat, and placing in the money in other leagues. I have figured out that I need to get into new leagues each year, so my opponents do not find my tendencies. In point per reception leagues, I love drafting WRs, and pray to God that I get lucky like I did last year by being able to field Jamal Lewis and Fred Taylor. Both gave impressive years and had low ADPs.

Fantasy football is the greatest thing. You can have the most well-thought out and executed plan, but that means nothing in fantasy football. I drafted a team that I was going to use as a 2 4 line up (two RBs and four WRs), but my WRs just kept getting injured. Therefore, I had to use a 3 3 line up in the home stretch, well it worked for me. Last year, with the addition of Moss, I went after Brady in most of my leagues. It worked well for me. This year...I need to look at what is happening. I know that I do not like players from Miami, or ATL. However, I will give Turner a look and Roddy White in round eight or nine makes sense. You want a sleeper...I'll give you a sleeper in my neck post. Thanks and its good to be back.

Thoughts on the past Fantasy Football Season

I can believe that the season is over and my performance was lackluster I limped into the playoffs in most leagues...and was promptly dispatched of. It was a horrible year...yes I did make it to the money round, and yes I recovered my initial investment...but that is not how I play fantasy football.

My sleepers I hit the nail on the head when I gave you guys Bernard Berrian. He was on fire...when Grossman decided he wanted to play. His states were 51 receptions 775 yards and 6 TDs. He had six games where he scored 15 points or more using Point Per Reception Fantasy Football scoring. However on the flip side Derrick Blaylock just flat out sucked.

You hit some you miss some...I will get this better for new year I vow.

Evaluating Sleepers: RC and EJ

One of my sleepers this year was Reche Caldwell...another was Eric Johnson.

Reche Caldwell had strong stats for a person you could draft in the 12 round of a 12 man draft or later. He had 61 receptions, 760 yards, and 4 touchdowns. However to be fair 4 receptions, 134 yards and 1 TD came in week 17. I believe that he should continue to improve his progress as him and Brady get a better raport. Reche had four monster games. Which would be more than 16 points in a PPR league. In week 8 he went off, for 7 receptions 84 yards and a TD. Week 10, he grabbed 9 passes for 90 yards and a TD. Week 11 he snagged 3 passes for 70 yards and a TD. Finally, he went off in week 13 for 8 recpetions and 112 yards. Not a bad bye-week fill-in!

EJ on the other hand had a very weak year. He could have been had in the last round of the draft for many teams. The guy has talent, but can't fight the injury bug. He had 34 catches for 292 yards and two tds. He had one monster game and one respectable game. In week three he grabbed seven passes for 87 yards and a TD. In week 12 he grabbed 3 passes for 17 yards and a TD.

You hit some you miss some...but at least I am honest about my predictions.

The Fantasy Football Mack Is Back

I am back, married and ready to make the charge towards the end of the year.

My sleeprs have done well and some have not done anything. Here are a list of guys that I recommened. Bernard Berrian...straight up stud this year in fantasy football. Reche Caldwell...he had a great game last week, and overall is a decent player for where I recommended taking him. Greg Jennings...he has been nice, but now he is slowed by an injury...but the guy gots skills. I also liked Eric Johnson, he had one nice game, but so far he has been pretty much a non-factor. Derrick Blaylock, he has done nothing. I also recommened Travis Taylor he is a great bye-week fill-in guy...nothing more than that.

Fantasy Football Expert League Results

The first week of fantasy football I was able to win both of my expert leagues. In the Draft Candy Tournament of Experts I was able to crush FFtoolbox.com 93 to 66. Even with a poor performance from Caddy. McNabb, Rudi, Hines Ward, Crumpler and the Eagles D can up big for me. I need the Bucs to sort out all of their issues to keep Caddy productive. I have Travis Henry and LenDale White to step up into the spot if Caddy keeps on faltering...however I was impressed by the five receptions he had. Big shout out to Draftcandy.com maybe the best fantasy football software available on the net!

In the Website Experts League I defeated footballguys.com by a convincing margin of 103.5 to 80.7. I was powered by strong performances from McNabb, Rudi, Tony G, and a decent spot play from Keyshawn. However, with TJ Whosyourmomma still injured I am hurting at WR. Caddy's performance hurt me once again (I drafted out of the same spot for both of these leagues. Willie Parker will start this week in place of Caddy. I love starting guys who play on primetime...Ego is everything in prosports.

I have two decent teams and I will look to demonstrate that I deserve my place among the elite fantasy football websites. I knocked off two of the best fantasy football websites around, with a less than stellar effort from my squad.

Wavier Wire Madness

The wavier wire was in full effect this week. I did something that might be a little stupid in my WCOFF Sat league. I spent 98% of my blind bidding bucks on Mike Bell. I won the bid for him and I was very satisfied. The wavier wire shuts off before week 11 so you might as well get a player early who might make all of the difference during the playoff run. Yes, he is in a RBBC system...however, we all know that T.Bell is not going to be able to carry the load...he is fragile therefore I got someone who can come in and fill in for the guy right from the Jump. I see Mike Bell as a guy to do some damage down the stretch. I fear the Rookie Wall, but I think that it was the best move I could have made. Too many people reach on WRs after the first week...last year it was F. Jackson...he had one big game for the Boyz and after that he did nothing...he is not even in the league this year...LOL.

I still have 2% of my budget left to get a player that I might need...however I am fairly deep at all positions. Other teams were committing 90% to 80& to aquire him so I was not that far off...I just needed to give a bid that I knew would result in acquiring the player and I did.

First Week of Fantasy Football.

Steelers beat the Fins...I would be worried about Ronnie Brown he looked like crap. Yes, the Steelers have a tough run D, but the guy only got 30 yards on 15 attempts that is something horrible. Cpep is a guy I stayed away from...never once thought about drafting him and I have about 15 teams. However, I must admit I was impressed. The only time that Cpep is going to self-destruct is when he starts forcing plays to come back from behind. The Steelers had him in known passing situations and they knew Ronnie Brown could not run for squat so they brought the dogs and watched him self-destruct.

The Steeler D looked like champs...they applied the pressure when they had to. Three sacks and two picks and one TD is pretty good.

FWP is a stud. The guy looked quick and powerful...I love that.

Things to consider this weekend:

TJ Whosyourmommma will be sitting out this week.
Jamal Lewis will start and play well.
Tomas Jones will bash the the Pack
Keyshawn will pick up Steve Smith's slack.
Derrick Blaylock will get some love.

Fantasy Football's Perfect Storm.

After 4:00 PST there won't be anything left except the WCOFF. Today I drafted two teams at the same time at xperts. That was a mistake...I ended up being stuck with DD in the 8th round. Something was happening with the draft software that caused this to happen to me. Maybe I screwed up. Maybe it was drafting two teams at the same time...but regardless, I got stuck with DD. I think that all fantasy football sites should remove guys who are on IR or have retired from being able to be selected by CC. This year I have one unrealleague team, 4 xpertsports teams, 5 antsports teams, 1 NFFC team and 2 AFFL teams plus my locals and expert leagues. Notice not one of those leagues are being played at NFL.com, ESPN.com, or Yahoo.com? I play big boy and big girl football not the little boy or little girl fantasy football. I eat at the solid oak table not the card table. Step your game up. I know antsports still has some leagues available...if you want to step up and join the big boys and big girls.

How about some wavier wire gossip...ok one name...Ron Dayne he could supplant Lundy as the starter in Texas. He is a grown man and he knows the system. He has a good relationship with the coach. The hardest thing for a young running back to learn is pass protection Dayne should know this quite well by now. I like Dayne as my first WW pick up.

Fantasy Football Respect

It time to take the respect that I deserve. Some of my fantasy football sleepers have already started waking up. Who was the only so-called fantasy football expert to tell you about Derrick Blaylock and that he would be the starting RB for the J-E-T-S? It was me. Everyone else was pimping Martin, Houston, Suggs, and Barlow...but it was fantasy-football-advice.blogspot.com that had Blaylock out on the block freezing in the rain bring this blog its money.

You want another...Greg Jennings...who pimped him first...I did...did he get the starting job...yes. You want another one...Ronald Curry...Raiders shipped off Doug Gabriel to the Pats that means...Ronald Curry is healthy.

I told you to start grabing Wali Lundy in your leagues...b/c of DD's knee. Still too many suckers were out there drafting DD based on some bad intel. To get DD you had to spend at least a high 4th round pick. That is the type of mistake that can kill your fantasy team. Many of you should send emails to whatever site or magazine you use and demand your money back for that league and for that piece of crap subscription/magazine that pimped DD to you.

Pimping fantasy football players is not easy...but I still keep it real. I just gave you some excellent values...oh you want one more...ok While other sites were pimping Ron Dayne...I told you to stay the hell away...hell those sites that were pimping Jabar Gaffney to you...oops he got cut! I think I need to kick down the door at one of the fantasy football sportswriter trade shows and show them all what a real pimp hand looks like up close and personal you dig!

Now you need to take this fantasy football advice and run to antsports and enroll in a fantasy league!

Domanick Davis May Be Cut By the Texans!

Domanick Davis of the Texans is in looking at being cut according to the Houston Chronicle (click on the link for the story). This would mean that Wali Lundy or Vernand Morency would have the opportunity to be the number one starting back for the Texans.

In one of my Antsports leagues I selected Wali off of the wavier wire. That move was based on the quote made by his coach.

Kubiak said Monday that if the regular season began today, Lundy would be the starter against Philadelphia.

If you are looking for a money league try Antsports. Antsports might be the best place to play fantasy football.

Fantasy Football Advice

Fantasy football drafts have been consuming all of my time. I have had a bunch lately. Here are my thoughts:

1. ADP does not mean anything when the action starts. It is a good measure...of what is going to happen, but when it gets crazy it gets crazy. People were drafted way out of line with their ADPs...I was able to draft Tom Brady in the sixth round of a 14 man draft...picking from the 10 hole. Normally I wait on a QB, but I started to smile when I thought I could have Brady or McNabb in the sixth round.

2. Draft Tracking is awesome in theory but the fog of a draft sometimes does not make it practical.

3. Grab the guy you want if you think he will not be there when you draft again.

4. Mock at as many different sites as possible to get a good idea of what you will see from the competition.

5. Test the software at the computer site that you are drafting at in order to make sure it works.

6. Immediately evaluate your team after your fantasy football draft to determine where your team is weak and where you are strong.

7. Understand your fantasy football league's rules.

8. If a player has a history of substance abuse, nagging injuries, being an A-hole or whatever take that into account before you draft him...you can't turn a whore into a housewife. It might work for a year or two but she will eventually show her true colors.

9. Don't buy the hype follow the gamebooks to determine who is really doing what the media is saying they are doing.

10. Brady will be a more dangerous QB if Branch is traded. Why? Because everyone knows that Brady loves to throw to Branch...without him Brady is a mystery. He will show no preference. Brady forces too many balls to Deon...causing interceptions.

11. Jamal Lewis will mash this year.

12. David Carr still sucks...but Moulds could be a real solid find for him. Back to Carr...a man who beats a woman will always beat a woman no matter how many times he says that he is sorry and that it will never happen again...that is just the way he is. Just like Carr...he says he will improve...the guy just sucks.

13. Lee Evans will blow-up if J.P. Loseman wins the job...if not he won't do squat.

14. Dunn is now a second round pick.

15. Antsports might be the best place to play fantasy football.

Fantasy Football Impact of Lelie and Duckett Trade

Lelie and Duckett are traded. Big deal. They both end up at teams that will not help their fantasy football prospects. Duckett is now Portis insurance...who cares...once Portis gets healthy he will send TJ back to the bench. Gibbs is not going to use Duckett as a TD Vulture...instead...Warrick Dunn's stock will now rise, becasue TJ is no longer there to steal goal line carries.

Lelie rather has seen a football that he wants to catch. Vick has rarely seen a wide reciever that he wants to throw to. Now Vick has three big strong fast targets who can't catch worth a lick playing wide out...big deal.

A Couple Random Fantasy Football Thoughts

Everyone likes being able to discuss their fantasy football team with co-workers and what not, but in order to do that you have to have the sexy players on your team...you know Randy Moss, T.O, Reggie Bush, Vince Young, etc. No one cares if you are living in Arizona and you team is comprised of LaMont Jordan, Westy, Hines Ward, Gates, and Derrick Mason. In my opinion a solid team that can be drafted from the 10 spot in a 12 person fantasy football draft. However, no one and I mean no one would find your team interesting. Therefore, people give up value in order to gain the pleasure of discussing their fantasy football team with their friends, family and co-workers. Well, recently I have been drafting two teams in antsports free contest sponsored by draftcandy.com (If you want killer fantasy football software and fantasy football information this is the draftcandy.com is for you!). Click here to see my two active drafts. Team 1 and Team 2. Well I figure one way to get Reggie Bush on my team for the cheap is to draft the Saints D/ST. Reggie will most likely return kicks and/or punts sometime during the year. That way, I can have Reggie on my team and I don't have to pay the early to mid second round pick to draft him. I get to share in all of his excitement without the expense. Also, very few people are going to think about drafting the Saints D therefore you can get him on the cheap and in a best ball format Reggie could score one or two TDs this year as a return man...not too shabby.

Another thought...I have been pimping Derrick Blaylock as a sleeper and the JETS Brass trade for Barlow...I think the job is still Derrick's to lose. Barlow is just not a motivated young man or as someone says somewhere...you can't polish a turd. I am still pimping Blaylock in the 10 round and beyond.

Sleeper Alert, Sleeper Alert.

Fantasy football drafts are already here and I am excited. One of my sleepers is waking up in a major way. His name Derrick Blaylock. Yes, the Jets tried to acquire Suggs and that deal failed. However, they handed the rock to Blaylock and he pounded the Redskins D 4 times in a row for 27 yards. That was against the Skins 1st string D. Other sites were touting that Houston would be the starter not me. Take a look at some of the press from last nights game for Derrick Blaylock: Article 1, Article 2, and the blog post where I first started pimping DB. You can draft DB in your fantasy football draft in the 10 round right now and have a starting running back. That is excellent value. Two Big Forgotten Running Backs

Fantasy football drafts have started and I have noticed something that is rather remarkable. Two of this years biggest sleeper running backs are going nowhere. I mean people are simply not drafting Reuben Droughns and Jamal Lewis. I love both of these guys and I have studied tape of them this year and they have been impressive.

Jamal Lewis is a beast. Too many people got burnt on him last year and it is their own fault. The guy was in the Fed Pen for a couple of months right after he had surgery on his ankle and people were wondering if he would be in tip-top shape. Combine that with a back-up playing for a contract and a crappy QB and it makes for a horrible year. This year Chester is gone and Boller is warming the bench. I think that Jamal will put up top 12 running back numbers in a PPR league and even better in a non-PPR. Game 1 and Game 2.

Reuben Droughns: The guy has two 1200 plus seasons in a row and is still stuck in a low to mid third round pick. The guy has looked solid and explosive. Fast and powerful. I believe the improved D will provide him with a short field. I also do not believe that Cinci can stop the run. I admit that he plays in a tough divison but he should be solid. With the fantasy football season about to begin it is important to know what your competitors are reading. You need to understand what fantasy football sites they are getting their information from. Fantasy football drafts are about to begin. So that is why is so imporant to be good. So allow me to say that when you are good you are good. My third sleeper for a fantasy football wide receiver was Travis Taylor. When you are good you are good. People who followed my fantasy football advice now got themselves a starting WR for next to nothing. As I detailed in my analysis on Travis Taylor I showed you his ADP. Now, it worked out. Many subscription sites tell you stuff that means nothing or that you already know. They think a step behind...I think two steps ahead of the pack. Deep Sleepers

Fantasy football drafts have alreadybegun. If you are some deep fantasy football leagues such as the WCOFF and you can stockpile some guys on your roster and/or you are in a best ball league such as the free one at Ants, then here some guys that you might want to consider.

Bryant Johnson AZ, Cards: the former first rounder has yet to live up to the billing that he had coming to the Valley of the Sun. However, for some reason Warner loves him. BJ will man the slot for the Cards and Warner has always loved his slot guy.

Eric Johnson SF, 49ners. EJ was a PPR monster two years ago. However the guys seems to be healthy one year then injured the next...well this is the year in the cycle where he should be healthy. Alex Smith is already looking for him. I imagine many two TE sets for the 49ners. The 49ners drafted VD not b/c EJ could not get it done, it was because EJ was never on the field.

Hank Baskett Phi, Eagles: This unsigned rookie free agent is asserting himself as the number one or two WR. McNabb will pass a lot and everyone on the top three WRs will get some targets.

Ronald Curry Oak Raider: This former UNC Basketball player is awesome, but has been slowed by injuries. If he can every get up to stuff he will be awesome. Right now he is taking it slow in camp.

Greg Jennings GB Packers: 2nd round draft pick has gained the confidence of Farve. Very talented WR who is having a great camp.

WR Sleeper Number Three

The third installment of my WR sleeper report. The first one was Reche Caldwell. The second wr sleeper was Bernard Berrian. The Final sleeper is Travis Taylor of the Vikes. He is slated as the Vikes number two WR. However, I believe that he will be the opening day WR because of his unflappable ability to make plays. He is not flashy and lacks upside, but he can play and play well. Furthermore, Taylor is the Vikes leading WR from last year. Here is what the press is saying about Taylor. Articles One, Two, and Three. According to Antsports ADP Taylor is not even listed.

Court Ruling For Fantasy Football.

Court ruling will insure, at least for the next two years, that small fantasy football sites be able to exist. This is a huge ruling for all of the fantasy football mom and pop operations like this. Deep Sleeper #2 Bernard Berrian

Many fantasy football drafts are coming up and I have some valuable fantasy football advice for you. I have three WRs who could be awesome late round picks. I will share the second one with you right now. Remember the first one was Reche Caldwell

2. Bernard Berrian of the Bears. This guy has speed to burn. Muhsin Muhammad is the number one WR on this team and can be a possession WR. Right now Bernard Berrian is battling Mark Bradley for the number two WR on the Bears. Everything was going well until Bernard Berrian got a hip flexor. However here are some articles about Berrian. Article one, article two, and article three. Furthermore, whoever is the Bears number two WR will have easy assigmnents against so very poor CBs. Bernard should be considered after round 15. Currently, according to Ants' ADP information which can be found here, Bernard is going undrafted. You could get a starting WR for nothing and look at his stats last year. Look at the divisional game and you will see what I see. Look at his last 4 games...you can even throw out that Vikes game. The guy has talent.

Fantasy Football and the NFL Preseason.

We are close to the first NFL kickoff since the pro-bowl, and the first kick off with fantasy football implications since week 16. Come to think about it, we will see NBC's first NFL broadcast in sometime, and we will see John Madden enshrined in the Hall of Fame. Not a bad night for sports fans...not a bad night for fantasy football fans. What a great night for John Madden…Congrats big guy! The only thing is many fantasy football team owners do not know how to use the preseason to their advantage.

When I view preseason games I am keying in to certain aspects of the game. In the passing game, the only thing I am concerned with is targets. Targets are how many times a quarterback attempts to throw a pass to any given player. Last year I saw LaMont Jordan get like fifty dump passes in the preseason...which meant he was going to be a PPR monster. At the same time don't believe the hype about a player mashing on a team's 3rd string. It just does not mean that much.

I also view preseason games in hopes of determining who my kicker is going to be. Pride is everything in the NFL and an offense will try everything to score in the red-zone. On the other hand, D's will clamp down in the red-zone. It is all about effort. Therefore, you can determine the teams that are most likely to struggle in the red-zone...thus meaning more FG's for their kicker. Case in point the Cards were miserable last year in the Red-Zone, but Rackers did quite well for himself and his fantasy football owners.

As the games begin I will continue to discuss the fantasy football implications of the NFL Preseason.

Fantasy Football Your Way

Winning is great but sometimes playing fantasy football with your friends is even better. However, sometimes the rules just offend me. I like playing in low drama fantasy football leagues. I prefer leagues that do not allow any trading. My rationale is simple. I do not know the other people in the league nor do I know their relationships to the other people in the league. Furthermore, I do not know the Commish and how she is going to rule. Therefore, I prefer no trading. That way I don't have to worry about the one idiot being taken care of. Some fantasy football leagues are too paternalistic to be fun.

On the other hand, some guys just love to trade. They love teams that are filled with brash players that all of their friends and co-workers will know. Guys like TO, Moss, Vick, Shockey vs. Hasselback, Steve Smith, Torry Holt, and Gates. I am not saying, one is better than the other...because reasonable fantasy football minds will see that either team could beat the other on any given Sunday. The point is draft the fantasy football team that you will have the most fun rooting for. Join the fantasy league that will benefit you.

How To Find Fantasy Football Sleepers

Fantasy football is won in rounds 6-14 not rounds 1-5. That means that you can't miss on your first five fantasy football draft picks, but you have to get exceptional value from your late round picks. I have developed a method of getting players who may wake up from their long naps. First if a subscription site or a magazine is touting x-y and z as sleepers than they are not sleepers. What you need our guys who are going to have a chance to play during the year and will perform well when they get the chance to play. For instance, in Denver the running back situation is crazy. Shanny believes that he can get a thousand yards with anyone so it does not matter what the guys name is. Many fantasy football sites are pimping predicting Bell as the starter and Dwayne as the sleeper to win the job. However, if you dig in the stats then you will realize that both these guys are FRAGILE so the true sleeper is Cedric Cobbs. Cobbs presents a strong risk reward situation in the later rounds (10 plus).

However, Cedric is a risky type of sleeper my favorite sleepers are guys who have had success before and may get another opportunity to shine. For example, Green Bay’s backfield exhibits this type of condition. Everyone knows of Green Bay's horrible offensive line (the guards and center, the tackles are very good). Additionally, everyone knows of Green's injury problems. Finally, everyone saw what Gado could do with the ball last year. However, how many people know that Packers switched to a Zone-Blocking scheme? How many people know that Green has not been cleared to play? Many fantasy football team owners are assuming that Green is first on the depth chart than Gado, but everyone has forgotten about Davenport. Davenport is a football player that has enjoyed success in the past, and is number one on the depth chart. In fact Gado fell to 4th on the depth chart, because he was having a hard time adjusting to the zone blocking scheme. You can get Davenport after the (10 round).

My final example comes via the J-E-T-S. They have the fertile soil from which the fantasy football sleeper seed may grow. The J-E-T-S have a new coach, who is not loyal to Martin. Furthermore, Martin has not be cleared to play. Therefore, the Coach is free to find the next Curtis Martin. His two prime choices are Cedrick Houston or Derrick Blaylock? My money is on Derrick Blaylock for later in the year to emerge. Check out his stats from the 2004-2005 NFL season with KC. Right now both are getting reps with the first team, with Cedrick getting the lion share, but that might because of his lack of NFL experience. Blaylock has the track-record to separate himself once they go live.

Now how do I locate these situations? I use many different news sources as you can tell from using the links. Simply go to Google or Yahoo and enter a player name in to the search box and then run your search in the news database. I also use the antsports boards to check out homer reports. 2006 DraftCandy.com's TEL: Recap Part II

I like McNabb in the sixth round, because the guy has won with worse WRs in the past. I think between Porter, Kennison and Lelie the Eagles need to make a move. Plus…Reid is Reid and whatever Tds Westy will get will come from McNabb’s passes and not his handoffs.
I like White…I think that the Titans have a bunch of bums running the ball. Both Brown and Henry have giant manginas. I said it both Henry and Brown have MANGINAS. Regardless, I still drafted Henry. I do not like my RB situation…there is not enough quality depth on this team.

On the Other Hand I love my depth at WR…Bennnet, Kennison, and Lelie. If Lelie gets traded I will have five number one WRs on my team…not too shabby.

Dallas Clark is an insurance policy for Crump and may start some weeks in his place due to match ups. Jake the Snake is quality McNabb insurance. I love playing my match-ups on D and a solid kicker. This team has a future, but I am not in love with it. I did enough well…but I am not satisfied.

2006 Draftcandy.com TEL: Recap Part I

Fantasy football 2006 is about to be unleashed on all of us. That is why I am uber- mock drafting and mock drafting as much as possible right now. I just finished my first draft against the experts. I had the good fortune to represent 123fantasyfootball.com in the 2006 Draft Candy's Tournament of Experts League. Many of the top fantasy football websites and fantasy football blogs were involved. I drafted out of the 10 hole for this fantasy football league. It was not fun but I created a strong fantasy football team.

1: Rudi Johnson: Rudi is the most consistent player on board at this position. He is a player who typically gets hot in the second part of the season. He gives me a strong foundation to build a team on. He rarely misses games and teams cannot stack the box to stop him due to Carson, Chad and TJ. Although, Rudi rarely catches passes…I am willing to overlook that due to the fact that I will be able to count on him for 16 games. Finally, if Carson is unable to play at the start of the season…then expect teams to get a heavy dose of Rudi.

2: Cadillac Williams: I got a brand new Caddy to show off. No more rookie wall. I love this pick. I wanted to get Westy, because of his ability to catch passes. Caddy lacks the pass catching that I would prefer in a PPR league, however Gruden loves to pound the rock and I expect a lot of redzone TDs for Caddy.

3: Hines Ward: Year after year Hines Ward continues to be disrespected by the fantasy football world for what? All he does is produces. I think Big Ben will not miss any time and Hines will be his favorite target. Hines is never a glamour pick, but more of a steady blue collar player like the city he represents. In fact, I am lucky that he fell to me…but I wanted Reggie Wayne.

4: Darrell Jackson: Djax…what can I say about a guy that continues to perform at a high level. Last year injuries hurt his production but this year he should have a stellar year. When Djax was healthy he was lined up with a number two that was really a number 3. This year the guy playing opposite of him is a true number 2 if not a 1b. Plus, the Seahawks are going to get everyone’s best thrown at them, which might mean that they will be behind in some games and forced to go to the air. Not to mention playing in the NFC West this year and having four games against the boys in the AFC West means that we could be in for an major air offensive.

5: Alge Crumpler: This pick was made due to the format of this league. Crump is the best of the remaining TEs left. He is the only offensive target that Vick looks for. If Vick has improved his passing abilities, as he claims, then expect Crump to have better numbers than he had last year. Furthermore, Jenkins and White should make huge strides in their game, which will free up more of the middle for Crump to work.

6: Donoovan McNabb: No TO...something to prove...he has put up fantasy god style points with worse WRs in the past...easy schedule...and fighting for the respect of Philly...McNabb is a steal at this pick...thanks everyone

7: LenDale White: I believe he will be the starter by year end. A talented back with questionable work habits, but managed to shine at USC. Norm Chow, will be able to get the most out of him. People forget that White is really fast. The hamstring problems are cleared up and Chris Brown sees the writing on the wall. I expect for White to be the starter by week 9.

8: Eddie Kennison: Eddie Kennisonis the only receiving threat this team has short of Gonzo. He still knows how to get separation from defenders. My plan is to play him when KC has possible shoot-outs. KC is a good team, that should be competitive the whole year and thus Eddie should still be playing hard during the Fantasy Football Playoffs. What he lacks in receptions he makes up in yardage in TDs. Further, if you are skilled enough to play Eddie when the match-ups favor him you could be in for a real treat.

9: Drew Bennet: Wow I thought I drafted Cooley and I was really excited about that pick...then I find Drew Bennet here and I am very pleased with this selection. Drew and Billy were many FF owners nightmares two years ago and a couple of owners' dreams come true...Mine to be honest he put my teams on his back and set me up for the league championship…and I brought that home. Drew is the deep threat on his team. Drew is blessed with good size and deceptive speed and a knack of getting open. He is opposite a true pro and the TEs are developed and know how to work the middle freeing up the sidelines. Norm will take shots done the field when the time is right. Expect Drew to be on the end of some of those Billy Bombs

10: Jake Plummer: Jake had a solid year last year even with the disappearing act pulled by Ashley. This year he has Rod Smith back along with Javon Walker. I expect Walker to have a solid year helping Plummer's numbers. If McNabb falters...Plummer can be legitimate starter for me.

11: Dallas Clark: Crump shoulder is not up to par and just in case he has some lingering effects from his surgery I need to back him up. Dallas Clark is a great TE under any circumstances but in this case I am very happy to have him as TE#2. I think with Edge in the Valley of the Sun Dallas will have a chance to "Do" the Endzone a little more often than most people think.

12: Travis Henery: Chris Brown's status is up in the air and he has a track record of injuries. CB has requested a trade even though Fisher has stated that he is the starter. Henry just had a horrible season. First his battle with substance abuse then an ankle that never healed. This year will be different. This pick also gives me two of the potential starters on the Titans. Not to bad at this point of the draft.

13: Philly's D: Philly's D is tough and when you have McNabb keeping the ball out of the other team's hands...life is good. A team that applies pressure and has great sack masters like Kerse who now has Howard on the other side...life is good...Patterson...last year's first round pick...has stepped up in the middle of the line...plus the first half of the season is EZ

14: Pat's D: I enjoy playing small ball with my D's and Philly and NE have a schedule that works well together. NE always gives other teams fits. They did well last year and they had a ton of injuries. This year they have a lot of players with game experience. I look for a solid year for this D.

15: Jeff Reed: I like grabing kickers on teams with strong D's and O's with question marks. I believe Reed fits the bill. This way if the O sputters in the Redzone more trys for him. Furthermore, the D will produce short fields and Cower likes taking the points...and Reed can kick well in a horrible place to kick FGs.

16: Ashley Lelie: Lelie has talent, but the question is when is he going to keep the switch on the on position the whole time. I must admit that I have been burnt by this guy many times. Regardless, there will be some team that will be desperate for a WR. Lelie will go to that team and try to be that team's number one. I am just socking him away for the short term.

Fantasy Football Advice Regarding Podcast

In my quest to gain the best information possible to give me an edge in fantasy football, I started using podcast available at iTunes. However, I found many of the team and NFL related podcast stink. However, I found one podcast that rocks...it is for the Pittsburg Steelers...and I am not a fan of the Steelers. The show is called One For The Thumb and its website is located here.

You have to check out his show it is great. This guy is ready for the big time. You forget that it is a podcast and thank that it is a real show. The knowledge he drops can help you in your fantasy football leagues...but it better than that...it is just a really good show.

You may enjoy other podcasts, but I found them to stink worse than my urine after I eat a pound of asparagus. However, podcasts are a low cost alternative to Sirius Satellite Radio. Round 13: Duce Staley: So, I've sat here thinking long and hard on this choice. I'm going to have to take Staley on the whim that if Parker gets hurt or if Staley gets all the goal lines. The hand cuff has now happened and I'm safe, unless Staley's back up ends up taking them, then I'll have to hope that I can grab him on the waiver wire.

Round 14: Jax Defense: For a bye week DEF, I really like this pick. They've always been fairly consistant. With the improvement in the secondary, I really like this pick this late.

Round 15: Josh Brown – Good kicker, good team. Should fair well as my 15th pick.

Round 16: Roddy White – The heat is on Vick to become a complete QB. White is the number 1 receiver in ATL. This is a great sleeper for the 16th round!

The Results From My 2006 WCOFF Draft

I have just completed my first official fantasy football draft for my WCOFF Satellite League. Now it is time to step back and admire what I have built and analyze where I am weak and what positions I can strengthen. Remember I drafted this team from the sixth position. My team's roster is as follows:

QBs: McNabb, Brooks, Lefty

RBS: Edge, Reuben, Jamal Lewis, Derrick Blaylock, Davenport, and Brandon Jacobs

WRs: J. Walker, Kennison, Curtis, Glenn and Moulds

TEs: Shockey and Pollard

Ks: Reed and Stover

Ds: Philly and the Pats Looking at the

QB position...I like what I see. McNabb and Brooks have questions surrounding them...and Lefty is just not the type of NFL player that strikes fear into fantasy football players...he is nice and consistent, but lacks the type of games that can win weeks for you all by himself. My running backs were looking good a few days ago and now they look wretched.

I was listening to Sirius Satellite radio and heard that Bentley is out for the year and JL is on the PUP. (I was able to arrange a free three day trial of Sirius for my readers. To start listening click here Free Online Trial of SIRIUS' 100% Commercial-Free Music). I need JL to step up and fend off Mike Anderson. Bentley was one of the reasons I was so high on Reuben. Edge has question marks, but should perform in the Valley of the Sun. Derrick is losing touches to Cedric in the J-E-T-S training camp. When I drafted my running backs I was really happy now I am worried.

My fantasy football wide receivers are not sexy but solid. I plan on running a three running back and three WR set. I believe that Eddie, Terry, Javon, and Eric are all set to start the first week of the season. I think Kevin will strip time away from Ike and I will have 5 quality WRs.

Shockey makes a great fantasy football tight end and I look at him more as my number one WR than my TE. He should help me control the position. Pollard is a solid substitute in case Shockey goes down.

My team has two and two D's that I can play small ball with. Furthermore, I do not have to worry about dropping an underperforming player...If someone appears on the wavier wire...I can just drop one of my D's and or Kickers.

Last year I won the only WCOFF satellite league that I entered. This year will be difficult, but I think I can work something out. I believe I have the best team to go head to head with the competition once the four fantasy football playoff teams are determined. Until then I will need consistent and steady point production from my boys. My founding fantasy football players: Edge, Jamal, Reuben, Shockey and Javon have to give me consistent performance. I am looking for McNabb to have a huge year as well as to play my WRs when the match up suits them.

However, I am going to keep tuned to Sirius Satellite Radio to keep up with the latest news updates concerning my players.

Drew Brees – At this point I’m covering my bye weeks and also building depth. After the first 8 rounds, that’s pretty much all you want to do. Grab the best of what’s left. Mostly I suggest building depth at WR and RB as those are the highest scoring players usually. However, as I did in this round, I took a QB as I had already covered my RB and WR backups for now. Next I’ll probably take a TE. Keep building what I can in the last 5 rounds.

Chicago Defense: The Monsters of the Midway were very comparable to the 1985 Bears defense. They held most teams out of the endzone and at best sacrifices field goals most of the season. The Bears unit should be just as solid and put up an average of 15 FP per week based on the leagues rules. There are other DEFs available that are solid, but not this solid!

Jake Delhomme: I have to take Delhomme over my other choice as he's going to have more weapons in Smith and Keyshawn. He's consistent, has a good arm, and he's taken the Panters to the Super Bowl with the help of Smith. I don't think I can go wrong with this choice.

Joe Horn -Now that Brees is the QB in New Orleans, I forsee a better team. I know Horn was inconsistent and "off" last year, but I think every player has a bad year. I think he'll be rebounding this year with a good QB throwing passes his way. This is going to be my risky pick.

Todd Heap: I figure that Heap is bound to match the numbers he did last year, 75 receptions for 855 yards and 7 TD’s, providing he stays healthy. Now that McNair has taken the starting job in Baltimore, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Heap actually improve. Also with Lewis and Anderson, the running game will open up the pass. The Raven’s now look like they have an offense to complement their defense.

Keeping It Real

Fantasy football means a lot to me, but allow me to be real for a minute. I enjoy the hell out of some fantasy football. I like knowing that my hard work (mock drafts, pouring over stats, creating spreadsheets, and reading everything I can get my hands on.) pays off. I love looking at my antsports trophies and check stubs. I must admit that I get a little weak in the knees everytime I look at the results of my WCOFF satelite league and see my ugly team in first place and I view my check stub for 2K and the bling bling it bought my girl.

I am being real so I will admit it...I love winning. I love my God, then my family, then my fiance, then money (I'm being real) and then winning. Sometimes, in my desire to win...to prove to the rest of the world how smart I am I lose sight of those who support me. Those who love me regardless of how my team does. I forget about my base...forget is too harsh and too dramatic of a word...I would be better served by saying neglect or take for granted. Although, I think about my loved ones every day...I must admit that I become a little too focused on this game of skill that we all hold very dear...fantasy football.

For me the the months of July through the first or second week of September are my most intense. I compensate to my loved ones by shunning all other sports. I am writing this post to

remind all of you that a happy wife = a happy life. Find balance with those who mean the most to you...if at all possible include them in the process...how you do that I have no idea...but if you know of a way please inform me. This might be the best fantasy football advice I have ever written.

The fantasy football season is upon us. As I have previously mentioned in this fantasy football blog, I was selected to participate in an fantasy football expert league. Here is my thought process for my thrid round draft pick in the 2006 Draft Candy's Tournament of Experts League.

In the Third round of my fantasy football draft I selected Hines Ward. Is such a great player that he can work with any QB and actually make them better. His teammates love him and last year when he began to holdout the whole city of Pitts had his back while on the other side of the state everyone wanted TO's head. He is consistent...no one likes drafting him because he is not a sportscenter type of guy. He handles his buiness on each and every play. He makes hard catches seem simple. Even if Ben was to miss a couple of starts I do not think Hines' numbers would not suffer that much.

Willie Parker: A great sleeper last year, he was a surprise to the league when he rushed for 1,202 yards plus his 218 receiving yards. Even with the possibility of having Staley carry the goal lines, I think he'll repeat if not improve on his numbers. He was hungry last season and proved it given his first opportunity. This season he will build on that knowledge and success and make a solid addition to my backfield next to Jordan!

The fantasy football season is upon us. As I have previously mentioned in this fantasy football blog, I was selected to participate in an fantasy football expert league. Here is my thought process for my second round draft pick in the 2006 Draft Candy's Tournament of Experts League.

In the second round of my fantasy football draft I selected Caddy. I forgot Caddy was even on the board until the guy before me mentioned him. It is never a good idea to mention fantasy football players who have not been drafted yet. Nothing can be gained from it and you could quite possibly alert help the competition. My preference is to draft running backs from strong defensive teams. On the other hand, I like drafting WRs and QBs from teams that have suspect defenses. Tampa Bay’s D is a solid defense that will benefit from a solid running attack. Further, Tampa’s D will create a short field for the offense to operate and provide Caddy with some red-zone opportunities. Additionally, Caddy now knows what a full NFL season is like and thus was able to train for it. He is capable of putting up big numbers this year. A one two punch of Rudi and Caddy provides my team with a solid running back corps. However, the only problem I have with these two is that they do not catch many passes, which is important in a PPR league.

My husband, Cory - the owner of Draft Candy decides to put together an expert mock draft in 4 days. Of course, thanks to Garrick, owner of 123 Fantasy Football, he had this idea. While I’m hunting down sites to participate, I’m unaware that we are going to start this mock draft as soon as we have 12 teams.

Next thing I know, the first round is starting and I have pick number 6. I don’t even know who my first round pick is going to be. Usually, once you know your draft spot, you would have a really good idea who you’re going to draft your first pick. That wasn’t the case with me.

I’ve had no prep time, no study time, and I’m so unprepared, pretty much dreading this draft. Every other person has been studying and researching for weeks to give their users ideas and thoughts and news on the best players, while I’ve been researching advertising and trying to get more exposure for Draft Candy.

Then I remember – “Wait a minute. I have my Fantasy Football Draft Master. Our rankings are the default, so all I have to do is set a few parameters for the league, input the names of the other teams and what picks they are and launch the Draft Master (DM), and I’m ready to go. And it’s a good thing because by this time, it’s the pick before me.

So, I take a couple seconds to catch up to click the “draft” button on the DM, which gray’s out the players already drafted. Then I take a couple minutes to check out the stats on the next top RB’s, write some notes in some of the players that I’m targeting. I already know who the RB’s backups are, as they are listed under the handcuffs, so I have some later round possibilities to be safe. I check out the news on the top RB’s that I’m looking to draft, to be sure there are no last minute injuries or things that could affect the performance of the players I’m looking at.

Well, I’m up on the draft, and I’m feeling confident. It’s a point per reception league, so I have to keep that in mind when drafting running backs as well, I choose – Lamont Jordan. I click “draft” at the end of his stats, news, notes and so forth and the DM and highlights him in yellow to decipher between my team and the other teams.

Now, we’re in about round 4 and it’s slowed down for the weekend. But I’m telling you, I didn’t have to study at all because of the DM! However, I don’t recommend this in money leagues. But I do know that you don’t have to spend nearly as much time studying, because you can really study all at once while simply setting up your Fantasy Football Draft Master. You have news, stats, the back ups to players who you might want to handcuff. It has targeting to remind you of star players or sleepers you are looking at later. While you’re reading the news on the players, you might have your own thoughts you want to jot down that you can in a notes popup. Seriously, it has everything. It saved me a lot of time!

Fantasy football is not a world onto itself it is a snapshot of the world we live in. Fantasy football is upon us. As I have mentioned previously in this blog I was selected to participate in an expert league. Here is my rationale for my first round draft pick in the 2006 Draft Candy's Tournament of Experts League.

I selected Rudi Johnson with my first pick. The guy comes on strong in the second half...however that can be very frustrating for the first half. I will need to build around him with guys who will be able to go the distance the first half of the season until Ruid starts to come on. I like the pick. I was thinking of grabbing Westy for his pass-catching ability but that did not work out. I thought I might be able to get him at Rd. 2 pick 3.

The fantasy football season is quickly upon us and I have the privillege of participating in the 2006 Draft Candy's Tournament of Experts League, which can be viewed by using the following hotlink. However, becasue I have two web properties I will be having the lovely Angie from DraftCandy.com draft on behalf of Fantasy-Football-Advice.Blogspot.com. She is drafting out of the 6th hole for this league and she has quite a bit of experience in the field of fantasy football. I am excited about the process. Fantasy Football Draft: Fifth Round of WCOFF Sat

The Fifth Round of my World Championship of Fantasy Football Satellite League's Draft came and went with me getting Shockey. Shockey has been known to pull a disappearing act from time to time. He also accumulates a lot of small little nagging injuries that adversely affects his overall ability to perform. Last season Eli and Shockey were on fire until the end of the season and Tiki had to carry the team oh his back. I think Shockey and Eli will form something special. It should be a good year for him.

Fantasy Football Draft: Fourth Round of WCOFF

It is the fourth round of my World Championship of Fantasy Football Draft...for the Satellite league that I am in. ADP is going out the window. Runs on WRs and RBs have been made Gates and Peyton are both off the board. I had assembled a quality cast of RBs who can all start for me, but it was now time to take to the air. With my pick I selected Javon Walker. I think he is fit and should be able to do some things in the AFC WEST. Two games against the Raiders, two against the Chiefs...and Jammer is not going to be able to lock up Javon. I like this pick...ok I just keep telling myself that. Fantasy Football Draft: Third Round WCOFF Sat

I am in the Third Round of my World Championship of Fantasy Football (WCOFF) Satellite league's draft. I am drafting out of the 6th hole. In the first round I drafted Edge and in the second round I drafted Jamal. In the third round I went with Reuben Droughns. I really thought long and hard about D. Davis...but his knee is really worrying me and as you know from reading the fantasy football articles at 123fantasyfootball.com, you know that I hate taking risk in the first five rounds.

Also I will be participating in the 2006 Draft Candy's Tournament of Experts League for 123fantasyfootball.com the lovely Angie of Draftcandy.com will be representing this blog. Second Round of WCOFF

Fantasy football is on and cracking. The second round of my fantasy football draft for the WCOFF satellite league brought me Jamal Lewis at pick 2.07. Rudi Johnson, and Peyton Manning were snagged right before I was about to pick. I think Jamal is going to Monster Up this year. Too many people burnt high draft picks on him last year when he spent 3+ months in the clink! Right before he went to the clink he had surgery and he had to spend the first couple of weeks in a half-way house. Plus he had Klye as QB. I rather put 8 or even 9 in the box and let Kyle beat me. I also opted for Jamal because the guys at the top 11 and 12 spot both went double WR. That means they will have to scramble for a RB. Therefore...I had to grab someone fast. Plus the combo of Edge and Jamal is rare due to the fact they are both the undisputed rusher for their respective teams. As you will read about my fantasy football philosophy at 123fantsyfooball.com. DD's knees have me worried...he is a hell of a back but his QB sucks.

WCOFF Satellite League Started

I have joined a fantasy football WCOFF Satellite league at Xperts! This is my second year of doing this and last year I won my league and a free entrance into the WCOFF. This year I am picking from the dreaded six hole. I thought that this would be worse than it was...but it ended up being not that bad. As far as participating in a fantasy football draft you have to fall in love with a group of players. Since I was picking out of the sixth spot I had to fall in love with six players. My six were: Edge, LDT, LJ, SA, LMT Jordan, and Tiki. Then I predraft them and allow them to do what they do. That is why I find it so upsetting when people don't predraft the first round. There is not going to be a run. Just find the 12 guys that you want and rank them in any particular order.

I ended up drafting Edge. I think the move to AZ will make Edge a better player, because he will be able to play every game. Unlike the Colts, the cards will have nothing locked up by week 14. They will be fighting and scratching to the very end. That way Edge has value when you need him the most...the playoffs. I also like his schedule. I think he will have the same numbers as he had a year ago...but his per game totals will be less.

If the $220 price tag for a WCOFF satellite is a little too steep for either your budget and/or experience level but you still want to have some skin in the game then try a league at Ants.

Fantasy Football Advice: Tiering TEs

Fantasy football drafts are about to begin and fantasy football leagues are starting to fill up (If you have not joined a league or are looking for a new league, try playing fantasy football at Ants or CDM or visit the discounts page of 123fantasyfootball.com and try signing up for a league over there). Accordingly, the fantasy football player rankings need to start flowing fast and furious. Never settle on anyone's rankings, you need to put your own assumptions and experiences in there and you need to know the current fantasy football average draft position of every player. Average draft position (aka ADP) is the fantasy football equivalent of stock quotes.

This year the TEs are muddled together, which is very upsetting for me. I usually have feasted by grabbing a top-flight TE and crushing the competition. However, that is not the case this year. The top two TEs are Gates and Gonzo. Both of these players are truly talented but both have many questions. Gates has a young QB who lacks experience. Who knows if he is going to get the same attention that Drew gave him. However, he plays in the AFC West where defense is not allowed. That is why 4 games against the Raiders and KC should make anyone happy. Same goes for Gonzo...he is no longer the stud he used to be. He is a great PPR TE...he catches a ton of balls and will give you a little something each week...but he starts slow. IF Drew was still the QB at SD then Gates would be the top TE...however, Gonzo has the hobgoblin of consistency on his side. I wish I had enough faith to proclaim that he would snap back this year...but I don't he is just steady...never misses games...a great player.

Getting Ready For Crunch Time

In the last two days I signed up for a bunch of fantasy football leagues and paid my money. When you join the type of leagues I join it puts a little bit of a cramp in the wallet...but come January, it has been worth it. That is not to say that I am a fantasy football savant, but I have said that in the past. No, I realize that there is a lot of luck in this game of skill that we play. There is luck in every aspect of human life. For those that do not prescribe to a belief that the world was created by God (aka creationism), but instead was the process of evolution...the paragon of luck (imo it should be called the luck theory). I digress, I am reading the Intelligent Investor by Benjamin Graham and it has helped me with some of my risk taking and my overall fantasy football philosophy. Sometimes, we think that we are incapable of making mistakes. We think that we are infallible. Sometimes we need to be humbled. This happens to me every year. All of my teams start off slow. I usually lose the four out of my five first games. Talk about humbling, but it is through this process that I understand my teams' flaws. I also, retest my analysis for drafting each player and when I expect them to contribute.

Furthermore, when I was in high school I was a wrestler. I took some bad beats and I handed out some bad beats to some guys who were frankly better than I was. I also wrestled guys who would latter become NCAA Div. 1 National Champions. It was wrestling these guys that I learned what it meant to be out-classed. I know I out-classed various kids I wrestled. Sometimes, in fantasy football for some reason or not...a guy puts together a perfect storm of a week and crushes you. Your best guys were on bye-weeks and his players had career games...there is nothing that you can do.

I say all of this to keep this game of skill that we love in perspective. I can write a blog and I can build a website...two tasks that do put my money where my mouth is, but when you shell out hundreds if not thousands of dollars to tell the world that "I am better than you at fantasy football, and I can prove it." In fantasy football you pay money for the opportunity to compete against everyone who thinks they have a shot at being the best...if this does not make you nervous then you don't fully grasp the gravity of the situation.

This is the time where you have to start mocking, doing uber mocks, checking ADPs. You need to pay attention to what is happening in training camps, is there injuries, how are the position battles going, etc. Like the title of this blog...it is now crunch time...and by the way..."I am better than you at fantasy football and forget about the checks that I have cashed for thousands of dollars and the trophies in my room. I am better than you and I willing to put this money on the line to prove it. Are you?"

Try a league at Antsports or one of the many fantasy football leagues at CDM! Now you can proclaim to the Fantasy football world that you are better than everyone else and you are willing to put down your money to prove it.

Handicapping This Year's WR

Fantasy football is tough but don't fret Fantasy Football Advice, the official blog for 123fantasyfootball.com, is here to helpfully make your life easier. Yet, in the process I am finding it difficult to handicap this year's crop of fantasy football wide receivers. I simply don't like the field every one has something that could affect their ability to produce. Fritz and Boldin now have a quality running back in the form of Edge and there is no way that Kurt is going to sling the ball 30+ times a game. Steve Smith now has Foster starting full time and he is a viable option out of the back field compared to Davis, and Keyshawn is a truly talented receiver who may see some of Steve's balls. Chad and TJ's fate depend on Carson's knees. Randy has to develop chemistry with Brooks. How bad is the Green Bay line? Will Farve be able to get a pass off to Driver. Marvin is getting old and last year it seemed Peyton forced balls to him just to keep him happy, when we all know that Reggie Wayne is the future.

Big Game has to deal with a new Head Coach, OC, and offensive philosophy this could mean less balls, but his head coach has experience dealing with a WR that is as gifted as Big Game, when he was the OC for the Vikings. Andre Johnson is a stud but Carr is garbage...word I said it...What? Same thing goes for Roy Williams in Detroit..but Kitna and McClown are garbage. Pat wide receivers are only good for draftmaster type fantasy football leagues, because you never know when they are going to strike.

TO has talent, but the question is...when is he going to lapse into his true petulant little child act? Can Plaxico not swoon again? How many balls will Nate take away from Djax? Lee Evans has talent but does he have a QB who can get him the ball? How will Javon Walker's knee hold up? Sorting WR's is a nightmare for me...I just need to share will all of you what I was going through.

If you are reading this fantasy football blog, than most likely you have been bitten hard by the Fantasy Football Bug. I know what it is like. You are ashamed to tell you friends that you are in 13 leagues. They just frown and make comments under their breath about you having no life. These are the same people who join an office league just to have something to talk about with their bosses...but their heart is not in it. You are the same people who no longer find in challenging take your friends money. The $100.00 pot at the end of year does not motivate you that much. You are the type of guy that recognizes that there are certain economies of scale associated with fantasy football. You realize that it is just as easy to be in one league as it is to be in two leagues or six leagues or even ***gasp*** 13 leagues. Scientific Football 2006 A Must Read.

In my quest for Fantasy Football dominance I came across Scientific Football 2005. This book was an act of passion by KC Joyner...what an amazing story. Check it out KC's story here. I can't recall how I learned of him and his book, but his dedication to his craft was inspiring. That much dedication I knew I was in for a treat when I ordered his book and his complete fantasy football program. There was a possible delivery problem, but KC stepped up and made sure that I would have my copy of Scientific Football 2005 before I left on my trip...and I did. As I drove across America I was dissecting every stat, metric, and forming my own opinions of what it meant. I am a fantasy football savant...if I do say so myself. However, I know my own limitations. I can't tell you who will win on any given Sunday. Hell lets be honest two years in a row I have been eliminated in Survivor series in the first week. I just plan stink. I also never played football...I was a soccer player and wrestler. So, KC's insights gave me a better grasp of the NFL. For that I am thankful. He really stresses the importance of match-ups. I have grasped onto that theory in two different ways: one by playing Fantasy football's version of small ball and two by using targets as a metric to evaluate fantasy football wide receivers. How To Kill Fantasy Football Sharks

If you go to any major fantasy football message board (like at Antsports) you will always hear some guy or gal proclaim to the board that they are a shark and that you are a guppy. I mean these people can tell you stats that make your head spin. The level of information that they understand and their ability to process this raw data into something tangible is astounding. Fantasy Football sharks are the same people who are in the message rooms in April preparing for one of their many drafts. These sharks have competed in one high stakes fantasy football league in one manner or another be it the main event or a satellite. Fantasy football sharks are too be feared. However, what I have noticed going against these sharks, some of the brightest people that I have ever met, is that they can't get out of the way of their own wake. They sometimes suffer from paralysis by over analysis. They outthink themselves. All you have to do is be still. They have to keep moving, however if you play dead they will ignore you. I win most of fantasy drafts, because I start out slow. No one considers me a threat until I am hosting the trophy and drinking from the keg of victory with Miranda bringing me the finest bagels and muffins in the land. Remember, a shark will die if it quit moving...so will these fantasy sharks...let them move right past you and then crush them. Second Tier of Running backs

Fantasy football advice is back to give you the second tier of fantasy football running backs to be drafted in your league's fantasy draft. If you are looking for fantasy football drafting software try draftcandy.com. If you are looking for a league to join try Ants. Or also give xpertsports.com a try. The next tier of running backs are Edge, T. Barber, and L. Jordan.
Edge: he is now with the Cards and is running behind a suspect line but he should make them better. AZ, also has a new O-line coach and should be able to get a lot of this group. Plus two games against SF and STL should make any fantasy owner happy. He also has Oakland, Green Bay, Detroit, and KC. Oh did I mention his final game against San Fran is on week 16?

Every year Tiki gets overlooked and every year he over-delivers. He does it all and is the cog in the NYG machine that makes them go. Eli is becoming a better QB and that will help him out. One major problem is that he is playing in one of the toughest Division's in the NFL. Two games against Dallas, Washington, and Philly is nothing nice. However, if he can make it through the gauntlet he will be rewarded in week 16 with NO. I know that he does not get goal-line carries but he makes up for it in a PPR league.

Lamont Jordan: Wow was he a steal in most Fantasy football drafts. This guy should continue to do well. Do not expect him to catch 70 passes again but he will be allowed to do his thing. I expect him to get more carries. Also, it is a myth that Z.C will still his goal-line carries. LJ has a nose for the endzone. His last 3 out of 4 games of the fantasy football season is AWESOME. I expect him to be in the mix of things as the Raiders' D is bad. He has proven that he can be the key guy in the passing game either blocking or catching passes in the flat. Brooks has always used Deuce as his outlet and that won't stop.

Fantasy Football is a game of skill that rewards research. Yes, luck is an important element, but luck is when preparation meets opportunity. 2nd Tiered Fantasy Football QBs

The second tier QBs in a fantasy football draft can be taken later. Having a solid QB on any fantasy football team can save your season. I like T. Brady and D. McNabb in this position. For T. Brady I believe that the ability for Watson to emerge as a threat is huge for Brady. In addition, what makes the Pats so hard to defend is that they have this gang of WRs who all look like one another and can't be defended. In fact, I believe Branch hurts the Pats and Brady, because Brady tends to focus too much and force the ball to Branch. He needs to get back to throwing it to everyone and anyone. McNabb, is the second player. Many fantasy football sites are down on him, which could be a steal for you at your fantasy football draft. Make sure to pay attention to his fantasy football average draft position. Also participate in some fantasy football mock drafts to gauge where he is being drafted. Here is my reasoning for McNabb: one, McNabb has a strong motivation to do well...This whole TO thing is now over with and he will continue to step up...Two, he has his confidence, some Philly fans wanted to put the back up in, when Mike Mc. came in he stunk the place up! Now he is backing up Brad Johnson in MN. I pray for Viking's fans that Brad stays healthy. (I was a real big Mike fan, but last year I saw that the guy is just not a NFL QB.) Three, I believe that Reid will be Reid and McNabb will pass the ball 30-40 times a game. Reid will uses short passes to Westbrook in lieu of running plays. Finally, look at his schedule! A game against SF, Texans, GB, NO, and the Titans.

How Fantasy Football Advice's Tiering Works.

Every fantasy football season gives us a chance to right last year's wrongs. It is important to get the most up-to-date information about each player's prospects. We need to rank each player so that way we can recognize great drafting opportunities. Also, we do not want to get caught in the tail end of a TE run for example. When we tier players, we are making a SWAG that these players should perform in a similar statistical fashion. In other words, anyone in a respective tier presents the same expected performance as any other person found in that respective tier.

Now, Sleepers come into play when you add the ADP or Average Draft Position along with your tier ranking to determine if you can get a second tiered player (RB) in the fifth round after many 3rd and 4th tiered players had been drafted ahead of him. On the other hand, you can avoid players with high ADPs, but are tiered low.

Top Tiered Fantasy Football Running Backs:

It is fantasy football drafting time and I have started the process of tiering all of the available players. Everyone needs to be prepared for their fantasy football league's draft. With that said and in no particular order the top three running backs are: S. Alexander for Seattle, L. Johnson for KC, and LDT for San Diego.

Shuan has a favorable schedule with two games against the Cards, and Niners. However, the loss of Hutch could impact his ability to get yards. Still he should be a Red-Zone machine.

LJ, is out to prove last year was not a fluke and he will continue to mash behind that KC line. He should be able to run wild on the Raiders twice this year and he will get whatever red-zone looks that Gonzo does not want. Plus, LJ has speed to burn.

Finally, LDT might get more of a load as Rivers develops. LDT has two games against the Raiders and KC. This sets him up for a big year. However, teams may stack the box against him and dare Rivers to beat them with his arm.

Each one of these guys should perform equally and should all be the first three picks in any league. Currently in the mock drafts that I have observed their average draft position or ADP is 1,2 and 3. For more fantasy football information visit 123fantasyfootball.com.

Fantasy Football Top Tiered QB is...

Peyton Manning: With the absence of Edge he should continue to create more opportunities for himself to score TDs. There will no longer be a major ego in the huddle to complain about touches and TDs. Now all of the O's major egos are Marvin, Reggie and Peyton. No more edge means that Dallas Clark should receive more targets in the Red Zone. Based on my tiering system I have Peyton as a late first round draft pick in early second round in a standard WCOFF point per reception 12 team league. Pros: he is consistent and free from injury and should play every week free of nagging injuries. Cons: with an improved Indy D he will see less and less shoot-outs and most likely will get tested in the first couple weeks of the season with D's employing gimmick defense schemes daring the Colts to run until it is proven that Indy has a legitimate runner.

Rookie Draft

I have a fantasy football rookie draft coming up at Unreal Leagues. Great place to play and a decent league...but some of the fools take too much time on the clock ie, they don't know how to pre-draft. Nonetheless, I have a Rookie Draft, now that the NFL Draft is over. I think that I am going to employ a strategy that the Coach of Arizona's football team employs...use free agency to address your needs and the draft to take the best player on the board.

Since I am drafting out of the ten spot in a twele person league I must be in love with 10 players. Well here are the ten Players That I love.

Second Pick of The Draft: This Player is a wish...he won't be there at the 10 spot when I draft...but I can dream. I went to USC Law and have seen every game that he has played...he is special. However, spliting time with Two scares me. Even though Two is coming back from an injury...Two is a great player...Believe that.

Sixth Pick of the Draft: A special target on a crappy San Fran team. How are they going to use him? EJ is a solid TE when he is healthy and on the field. EJ is a definite 13 round SLEEPER. So will San Fran use a lot of two TE sets? Who knows. SF has to score points and their RBs scare no one...but then again two games against AZ bolds well for VD.

21st Pick of the Draft: Dill Pickle has worn out his welcome in NE. Must of his TDs were Vulture in nature. Accordingly, they need a fresh runner. This guy is a stud and his Back-field mate at the U of Minnesota who plays in Dallas had a solid Rookie Year so look for the same. My favorite Rookie of this class NEXT Year.

25th Pick: He is a good situation and could produce...like him not love him.

27th Pick: Foster Fresh Farms is also known as Mr. Glass. He is talented but can't stay healthy. I like this guys chances. He did everything at Memphis...now he has some road graders in front of him...watch out. He will eventually get to start because Foster Fresh will go down.

28th Pick: Benz was a player at FUCLA (I am a Trojan folks) big guy who should make an immediate impact for Jax. He is in a good situation and could assert himself as the top target on the team. Plus with "Matt Jones 'WHO?' Matt Jones" stretching the field the middle should be wide open....TOP TE Pick for FF.

30th Pick: All Day I Dream About Replacing Edge or something like that. Who knows if this guy is going to start. The man who recruited him has an eye for talent...so you know he has skills...but I think he is more of a work out warrior than a football player. However, I like the situation he is in.

44th Pick: His big brother is a player and he is from the "U" I don't like his much this year...however his brother could tell him what to do to make an early impact and he could challenge early for the number two position.

45th Pick: Snoop D O Double G's little nephew from USC...is a player the real deal. His real cuz got robbed of the NBA's MVP and he got robbed of first round money...he will get his. The two guys in front of him are Bums. Look for him to start by the seventh week.

60th Pick...Fragile Fred cannot last forever and this FUCLA player is explosive! Nancy Drew should get the rock early and run with it.

These are the 10 guys I love plus a Homer Pick who might be staying in a Hilton. Let the Fantasy Football Draft begin.

Fantasy Football Update: Meshawn to Carolina

Meshawn to Carolina is a great move by both sides. I think Meshawn might just be the most underrated fantasy football player. I think he is a steal in the 9th round with an average draft position of 96-101 He has the ability to catch over 70 balls this season flirt with 850 yards recieving and maybe around 6 or 7 TDs. The thing about Meshawn is that he will get a lot of looks from "Daylight come and you got to De Home." On the opposite side of Agent Smith he will see a lot of single coverage and his blocking should free "Foster Fresh Chicken" to do some running.

A. River to Oakland to Play Quarterback

The Straight Cash Homey will have a new QB passing him the ball. Aaron "River" is a great fantasy football value. He always gives top 12 numbers and might be able to do something with LMJ, the non trash talking Porter and the Straight Cash Homey. Also the change of environment could help. Let us be honest it would have been difficult for the Good "Man" to put up numbers last year playing for New Orleans. I think that Aaron Rivers could put up top 10 numbers next year and you should be able to get him in mock drafts in your fantasy football league in the 8th round with an average draft position in the 97-105. Not too bad.

Fantasy Football Impact: Free Agency

This year's NFL free agency has dramatically affected the fantasy football landscape. The following players have either increased or decreased their fantasy football value:

Cpep: has not been traded to Miami and will be throwing to a better set of wide receivers than he did in the 2005-2006 fantasy football season. However, we are not confident in this ability to redenfeses. Therefore, we would not select Cpep until the 7th round.

Breeze: was acquired by New Orleans via free agency. He leaves a good situation in San Diego, but has a talented group of skilled players surrounding him. Accordingly, we feel that Breeze is a 9th round selection.

Edge: was acquired by Arizona via free agency. Edge will be surrounded by two talented receivers and a veteran quarter back. However, he will be running a less skilled O-line. It is our opinion that Edge will comparable numbers to his previous seasons. Accordingly, because he is on a team, we are lowering Edge's draft ranking to the 8th overall pick.

Cleveland: has acquired many talented players on both sides of the ball. The addition of the offensive linemen will increase Rooooobin's production making him a late 2nd round pick. Also, Cleveland's QB should improve with the added protection. In Dynasty fantasy football leagues, he should be taken as the 16th QB overall and in regular leagues he should be taken as the 22nd QB. Cleveland's D should improve after another year under their head coach. Look for them to be a sleeper D and a great candidate for small ball.

The other Lewis: re-signed with Baltimore and should put up strong numbers this year. However, due to the inconsistent QB play, his draft position is mid-second round.

Tailor: signed with Minnesota and should be viewed as "Eastriver" in the Philly offense. He should be selected in the late 2nd round.

D-Mac: should experience less production with the departure of TO. We believe that he is now a 6th round pick.

Free Agency Update: Edge In The Dessert!

Arizona is like what? Edge, Q, Fritz, and Brenda's husband no longer looks like your Father's AZ team. The Bidwells are serious about putting butts in the chairs of the new stadium and God Bless them. Two years ago I said this team felt like USC did when Pete Carroll took over (USC Law Grad Class of 2000) and it is proving to be true. Rolle will be a real player, Fritz is a pro-bowler, Brenda's husband is good, and now we need to spend some money and acquire another good O-line man in FA and one in the first day of the draft.

Arizona just turned the draft upside down with the signing of Edge. Now, what will Indy do at the RB position? That could have huge implications in the fantasy football universe. Too be honest signing with AZ lowers Edge's value to pick 8 instead of pick 4. On the other hand, we know that he will play the whole year. Also, move both Q and Fritz back a five picks. I would say that both Q and Fritz should be acquired starting at pick 33. Brenda's husband should move up and should be taken as the 8-12 QB selected.

Free Agency Update: A Tailor Made Fit

As far as fantasy football is concerned, Minnesota is filled with uncertainty. Minnesota has a new coach and lacks the explosiveness that made them the most feared offense in the NFL since 1998-2004. This free agency period, Minnesota made an splash in the running back arena. They signed a "Tailor" from Baltimore to be their starting running back. Minnesota's new coach is from Philadelphia and maybe he wants a back who can do all of that the RB in Philly could do, you know "EastRiver" (See this article about the importance of understanding the coaching tendencies of NFL coaches.)

What I can't figure out is that Minnesota has MM who has done well for them ever since day one and yet they continue to disrespect the guy. He runs hard, catches well, and picks up his blocks. I believe he could do everything that EastRiver can do but yet MN just does not like the guy. Go figure.

Fantasy Football Impact of Tailor with Minnesota: I do not know what MN's offense will look like. Maybe Minnesota is hoping for another "Pastor Watson" but I am not wowed by this signing...however I believe Tailor can do a lot of different things and he can do them well. He is fast and can take more of pounding than EastRiver. He also catches the ball very well out of the backfield. In a PPR league...Tailor will be a player! Look for him to be pick 22 in fantasy football drafts.

Free Agency Update: Bentleys Come In Brown

Who ever thought that Bentleys would ever come in Brown? Romeo "minus Juliet" has added some toughness and quality to his O-Line. This along with the signing of a new left tackle has made Cleveland a much better team. This has to help Roooben "not the American Idol" increase his fantasy production and also help a young QB. If Cleveland's first round pick from the 2005 draft recovers from his injury and the "Soldier" ever gets on the field this offense could do some things. However, I believe they need to add another quality WR to help out the young guys and Free Agency does not look like the place to do it.

My fantasy football ratings for these guys are as follows see 123 fantasy football for my criteria of what type of fantasy football leagues my fantasy football advice is directed towards.

Rooben position RB he is a good value at pick 19 or higher
WR number 17 is a good late round pick depending on how he heals during the off-season.
QB this will be his first full year as a starter so I would not draft him.
Solder, if he does not run into any curbs and is on the field I would draft him in the 8th round.

Fantasy Football Impact Of Cpep in Oakland

Cpep might be reunited with the "Straight Cash Homey" in Oakland. Oakland is under the cap by about nine million dollars which is enough to handle Cpep's eight million cap number for the 2006-2007 season. This move will make Cpep a valuable fantasy football quarterback. I would take him with the fifth pick in any draft. Anything before the fifth round is more than I want to spend on a player coming off a horrible injury.
The Straight Cash Homey should be a high second round pick if Cpep joins the Hyphie movement in O-Town. I think he should put up the best numbers of a WR next year with this move. The non-trash talking Porter should also benefit as well. In addition, Cpep will no longer have to read defenses. If he goes to Oakland all he has to do is look to see if SCH is doubled or not. If SCH is doubled throw it to anyone else or audible to a run if he is in single coverage a Moss Bomb is on its way.

If Cpep goes to Oakland I would move SCH to the top of the second round of your fantasy draft and expect him to put up big numbers. Non trash talking Porter should be a fourth round pick in your fantasy draft (assuming 12 team fantasy football leagues) and Cpep should provide a good risk-reward in the fifth round. Finally as a true fantasy football sleeper watch out for Oakland's TE he could put up top 10 numbers and be aquired in the 12th round or later. However, please mock draft to deteremine the Average Draft Position for these players.

NFL Reaches A CBA

What impact will the CBA have on Fantasy Football? It is immediately unknown, but the expected bloodletting is now not expected to occur. The salary cap for the NFL/fantasy Football season is expected to be ten million more than last years. Many of the players who were cut by their teams most likely will remain cut. With the Third Barber brother signed by Seattle the big name left in Free Agency is Edge.

However, a player like, Will "U" Shields "me" will most likely not be cut and will add stability to KC's OL and make it easier for guys like Grand-Ma-Ma to run the ball.

We will continue to keep you updated as we hear more about the CBA and what impact it will have on Fantasy Football.

However on a personal note, I am very proud of all of the parties of getting a deal done so Football does not end up like Baseball. Even though I am a Cards fan, I feel that each year we have a chance...being a KC fan from back in the day (Bo Jackson) I know they have no chance so why bother.

Dynasty Leagues Are Starting Back Up!

I like to have a mix of the different types of fantasy football leagues that I participate in. I thought it would be cool to be a GM and have to manage a team over a couple of years. So I joined a dynasty league.

This particular league has its restricted free agent auction tied to the NFL free agency. So last week, when the NFL free agency should have began, my fantasy football league started to auction off restricted free agents. The team that had them on their roster when their contract expired could keep them by matching the highest bid. Unfortunately, there is no competition to be had if you lose the player via this process.

So I evaluated my team, which won the division but lost to the champ in my league's fantasy football playoffs, and realized that I needed more consistent scoring from my wide-outs. I looked at what was available and what I had and crafted a strategy to target older WRs who were once vertical threats and now have the dubious label of "Possession" WR. I knew that these players are always undervalued. I needed them to be cheap, because I did so well in my fantasy football league I did not receive many bidding bucks (my league works on a sliding scale the team that does the worse gets the most and the team that does the best gets the least 30 for the worse record 15 for the best) and I spent a lot (15) acquiring FWP before the season started last year and you only get 100 at the start of the season. So I was able to pick up guys like "Free Mason", "Meyshawn" to add to his cousin, and Denver's number 80 to add to 84 all for 2 bucks a piece. Meanwhile, the bidding is still fast and furious on TJ "how the hell do you spell his last name" with the current bid at 16 bucks. IMO, TJ is a possession WR...But he is not old enough to be tagged with the title. If you compare Tj's number to the guys I got for a total of 6 bucks you will see he does not out-rank many of them by that much if at all.

Fantasy football is all about value and consistent scoring. I helped my team by obtaining guys who can still play at a high level and I was able to get enough players to diversify my risk if one of them suddenly plays like their age. Fantasy Football Begins to March

Its March and fantasy football is already stirring any many of our hearts. A chance to defend our titles or take others. Then money that has been won has been converted into TVs, computers, car-payments, expensive dinners, cigars, et al. The trophies are sitting on the mantles, bookshelves, and trophy cases in our dens and family rooms. Winning fantasy football playoffs and championships is quite a rewarding accomplish and the drive to win has been rekindled.

The NFL Combine has just finished. This is a chance for a lot of us to judge the abilities of certain rookies to sock away for later on our fantasy football draft cheat-sheet. With Bloody Monday about to occur fantasy football could be all that more interesting. Big names are getting cut and certain players whose teams are well below the salary cap might benefit. If Houston can grab a couple guys for their OL, DD, AJ, and DC could all benefit. Same thing can be said about Arizona's team. Arizona's running back did nothing in his rookie year, but that could improve with the addition of quality offensive line men. Right now I am pegging JJ as a fantasy football sleeper for the 2006 season. In a 12-man draft I would not pick him until pick 45. This could change depending on what Arizona does in the NFL Draft and in Free Agency and how Bloody Monday goes down.

JJ was good in college running for Cal. He displays heart and determination and was the only player on that Cal team who showed up to the Holiday Bowl. However, I was sad to see the guy do nothing last year. He displayed no toughness. The guy never saw a tackle that he wanted to break. However, if he is allowed to get into the secondary clean he is gone. He is a fast and catches the ball extremely well, but Arizona's OL was designed for pass blocking and not run blocking and failed to get a surge off the ball. Hopefully, Arizona can correct this with a combination of better talent on the OL and better coaching. Arizona has hired a OL coach and has money to spend. If AZ allows JJ to compete for the starting job look for him to rebound nicely. I play in PPR leagues and therefore his catching ability makes him an even better pick.

Regardless, fantasy football continues to march along.
